Kanchan will auction the jersey he has scored in three SAF matches

Sports are all off.  The country is now in the throes of a coronavirus epidemic.  The country's stadium has come to a standstill.  The whole country is in danger.  People have become helpless.  The country's star athletes are coming forward with humanitarian initiatives towards them.  Many are providing food and goods and many are standing by financial support.  Safjoyi footballer Roknuzzaman Kanchan is being added to that list.

The former national team striker wants to auction off the jersey he has scored in three matches, including the semi-finals and the SAF Championship.  He wants to help the poor and the starving with the money of the auction.

 Kanchan, who won the Man of the Match award in the final of the 2003 SAF Championship, has decided to auction off his No. 11 jersey.  "I would consider myself lucky if the money from the sale of my jersey would go to the needy," he said.

Kanchan did a great job wearing that jersey.  Kanchan scored three goals alone in the 2003 FIFA World Cup.  Kanchan scored one goal against Bhutan in the group stage, one against India in the semi-finals and one against Maldives in the final.  However, Bangladesh won that final in tiebreaker.  However, Kanchan had a lot to contribute to becoming the red-green champion.  The star footballer has expressed interest in auctioning that jersey.

Not only Kanchan but also star footballers Alfaz Ahmed, Monem Munna and referee Tayyab Hasan are among those who have been interested in auctioning jerseys before.
